If you are a member of the LGBT+ community in Sefton and you are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse, you are not alone. We offer confidential support, resources, and a safe space for survivors of all backgrounds.

Our Commitment to LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Survivors in Sefton
- LGBT+ Inclusive Support: We understand that domestic abuse can affect anyone, but LGBTQIA+ survivors face unique challenges that may make it harder to reach out for help. We offer specialized, LGBT+ friendly support that is confidential, inclusive, and culturally competent.

The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the following drop in service for people affected by domestic abuse who identify as LGBT+

Held between 12pm and 2:30pm at Linaker Family Wellbeing Centre, Linaker Street, Southport, PR8 5DQ

- Session 1 – What is domestic abuse.
- Session 2 – Different types of abuse and impacts.
- Session 3 – Effects of domestic abuse on children / parenting.
- Session 4 – ACE's.
- Session 5 – Healthy relationships.
- Session 6 – Self-esteem / confidence and actions for the future.
The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the opportunity for service users to process their trauma, rebuild self-esteem, and address mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
- Social and Therapeutic support referrals.
- Individual Counselling: One-on-one sessions via sign posting to external services.
- Support Groups: Group therapy or peer support groups where survivors share their experiences and gain mutual support from others who understand their situation.
