If you are a member of the LGBT+ community in Sefton and you are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse, you are not alone. We offer confidential support, resources, and a safe space for survivors of all backgrounds.

Who We Are
We are a dedicated support service for LGBT+ individuals who are dealing with or have been affected by domestic abuse. Our team is committed to providing you with compassionate, non-judgmental assistance tailored to your unique needs.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower, support, and advocate for LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse in Sefton. We aim to create a community where everyone can feel safe and receive the help they deserve, free from discrimination and fear.

About Us

Our Commitment to LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Survivors in Sefton

  • LGBT+ Inclusive Support: We understand that domestic abuse can affect anyone, but LGBTQIA+ survivors face unique challenges that may make it harder to reach out for help. We offer specialized, LGBT+ friendly support that is confidential, inclusive, and culturally competent.

DROP-INS

The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the following drop in service for people affected by domestic abuse who identify as LGBT+

Wednesday

Held between 12pm and 2:30pm at Linaker Family Wellbeing Centre, Linaker Street, Southport, PR8 5DQ

ONLINE

Wednesday

ECHO PROGRAM
COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

The Sefton Domestic Abuse Service provides the opportunity for service users to process their trauma, rebuild self-esteem, and address mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, or PTSD.

Interventions:
  • Social and Therapeutic support referrals.
  • Individual Counselling: One-on-one sessions via sign posting to external services.
  • Support Groups: Group therapy or peer support groups where survivors share their experiences and gain mutual support from others who understand their situation.
